Jo-Ann Friberg

Jo-Ann (Tanase) Friberg passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022 after a long and difficult journey. Born on August 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Moran) Tanase.

Jo-Ann graduated from Bassick High School, Bridgeport, CT in June 1962. She attended University of Bridgeport. Jo-Ann was a secretary for many years, spending most of her career as a legal secretary.

She was a wonderful cook who loved to entertain. She was most happy when she was surrounded by family and friends and sitting in the sun at the beach.

Jo-Ann is survived by her son, Christian P. Friberg who she loved and adored, and his very cherished wife, Maryanne Donnelly of Trumbull, Connecticut. She is also survived by her sister, Mary-Ann Ondy, her best friend who she loved deeply and her husband Edward Ondy of Milford, Connecticut, and treasured nephew, Alexander Ondy of Stratford, Connecticut. A special cousin, Joan (Culetsu) Kalakay of Bridgeport, CT.  Stepdaughters Kathy (McKeon) Wilson and husband Jaime of Stratford, CT and Christine (McKeon) Pretash of Branford, Connecticut.  She is also survived by her cousins and many friends, who will miss her.

There will be no calling hours or services.  Those wishing to make donations in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Paws for Purple Hearts
