Joan P. Trapp, 74, of Yardley, PA, formerly of Milford, CT, beloved wife of the late William Trapp, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2018. Born on July 9, 1943 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Morrissey Philips.  

Joan enjoyed the outdoors including skiing and tennis in her early years. She enjoyed cooking and was always up for a party with family and friends. In addition to being an active member of St. Mary Church, she was involved in Saint Mary School where she was the President of the Parent-Teacher Association. In her working years, she worked as an office coordinator, bookkeeper and paralegal. In her Golden Years, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sports and activities. 

Joan is survived by her children, Kevin Trapp and his wife Julie of Yardley, PA, and  Sheila Trapp of Milford, CT; two grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Trapp; and two sisters, Nancy Parnell of Old Saybrook, CT and Mary Atkinson of Niantic, CT. She was predeceased by her sister, Marjorie Diffenderfer. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
