Joanne P. Soltes, 76, of Milford, beloved wife of almost 54 years to Robert Soltes, Sr., passed away on July 6, 2017.  Born on June 29, 1941, in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Isabelle and Frederick Fahrendorf.   

Joanne was known as a seamstress and cake decorator. She created her daughter’s wedding dress, her granddaughters’ prom dresses and communion dress and enjoyed baking wedding cakes. A caregiver, Joanne always put others before herself. Her family was the light of her life and she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

Along with her loving husband, Joanne is survived by her beloved children, Sandra (Scott) Canfield and Robert (Krista) Soltes, Jr.; adoring grandchildren, Bretton, Karra-Anne, and Kyle Canfield, Jessie, Robert III, Brandon, Nathaniel, and Nicholas Soltes, Joanne Ricci, and Justin Soltes; siblings, Albert Dion, Rosie Guglielmo, and Mary Gayle Deaux; and many more extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Scott Andrew Soltes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT.
