Joaquim "Jack" Barbosa

Joaquim “Jack” Barbosa, 68, of Bridgeport, beloved nephew of Alda Valente, passed away peacefully and entered into eternal rest on September 10, 2018.  His last hours were filled with comfort, love and joy surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on December 3, 1949 in Para de Belem, Brazil, he was the cherished son of the late Margarida Silva & Augusto Barbosa. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear sister, Gracinda Santos.    

Jack graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT. He was formally employed by Park City Hospital. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, snuggling with his cat, watching Jeopardy (at which he was REALLY good), listening to music, watching old movies, surfing the web and sharing stories with his Facebook family.

In addition to his aunt, Alda, he is survived by his dearest friend Maria Brito and her beloved sons, Luis and Carlos. He is also survived by several loving cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, (St. Raphael Parish), 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604.
