John K. Gallup

John K. Gallup, 74, of Milford, beloved husband of Valerie (Hanlon) Gallup, passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2021 after a valiant battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born on June 24, 1947 in Stamford, CT, he was the son of the late Greer and Ethel (Peterson) Gallup.

John was employed by SNET (SBC/AT&T) for 27 years before he retired. He then became a Sheriff/Judicial Marshall for 20 years until his retirement 4 years ago. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Yankees and the Giants and was passionate about food – always watching the food channels.

In addition to his wife, Valerie, John is survived by his daughter, Kate (Anthony) Timpanelli; his grandchildren, Penelope, AJ, and Christopher Timpanelli; his brothers, Peter (Sandra), Joey (Bonnie), and Richie (Jyl) Gallup; his brother-in-law, Richard Hanlon; his cousin, Priscilla DiGalbo; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, Bobby Wilson; his fur-babies, Kiso, Coco, Crystal, and Chanel. John was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Teddy and Lee Gallup.

Interment will be private and a private celebration of life will be held on July 26 for close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Connecticut, The ASPCA or Pancan.org (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).
