John Lincoln Peterson

John Lincoln Peterson, born February 19, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY, passed away recently at the Orange Health and Rehab Center of Orange, CT. He was the son of the late Arnold E. Peterson and Inez Weeks Peterson.

Grown up in Milford, John graduated from Jonathan Law High School, then achieved an AB degree in chemistry at Greenville College, Greenville, IL. This was followed by a degree in law at Valporaiso University in Indiana. Later, having passed the Patent Bar exam, John worked for Miles Labs in Indiana, Bic Pen in Milford, and Olin Corp. in Cheshire. In this way he combined his love of chemistry and Patent Law and worked successfully at his career for many years. Sadly health problems eventually led to his residence at the Parents’ Foundation in New Haven and most recently at the Orange Health and Rehab Center. John will be remembered for three enduring qualities: he was always cooperative, very appreciative, and lived with great dignity in spite of his troubles.

John is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) of Milford and his brother, Kenneth of Long Island, NY. Kenneth, with his wife Erna and their sons, Jonathan (Lauren) of D.C. and Andrew (Sally) of Pittsburg, along with their children, loved and will miss “Uncle John” very much. He will also be missed by his uncle, Steve (Marge); his cousins, Karen, Marion, and Lisa; and special friends life Yvonne, Nancy, Pieng, and Gabriella.

Johns family would like to thank “Dr. Denise”, the head nurse at Orange Health and Rehab, the many wonderful nurses and CNA staff, and a PT department that always encouraged him to keep moving.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
