John H. Winters, 73, of Milford, passed away on September 15, 2017. John was born on January 29, 1944 in Ogden, UT to the late Seth and Mary Elizabeth Winters. John served his country in the Us Army. He was a volunteer fire fighter at the Point Beach Engine Co. #6. He was also a member of the Plymouth Men’s Club and a Scout Master. John’s family remembers him for saving a child from drowning when he was twelve.

John is survived by his son, John C. Winters and his wife Teresa; his grandsons, Gavin and Giovanni Winters; his brothers, Evan Winters and his wife Kathleen, Russell Winters and his wife Robin, and Richard Winters and his wife Debra; his special friend, Blanche; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Graveside Service with Military Funeral Honors will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford, CT. Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s name may be made to the Beth-El Center, 90 New Haven Ave., Milford, CT 06460.
