Judith L. Rice

Judith L. Rice, 77, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Stanley Rice, passed away on June 14, 2022. Born on March 12, 1945 in Sheldon Springs, VT, she was the daughter of the late Bryon and Ruth Austin.  

Judith was a graduate of Ansonia High School and went on to marry and raise her family for many years along with being a foster home host. Judith had a very generous heart. Once the family was grown she went back to the workforce and worked at many divisions of Air-Lock Inc. and became an entrepreneur with a friend of a painting and wallpapering company.

Judith leaves behind her children, Steva Werden, Scott Rice, and a son-in-law, Robert Werden. Grandchildren, Cassie Rice, Mackenzie Rice, and Tommy-Lee Buskey. Her brothers, Ronald Austin and James Austin. Her sisters-in-law, Beth Austin and Sue Austin; and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Austin and sister-in-law, Jean Austin.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. A Graveside Service will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
