Julia Plate, a resident of Bronx, NY and Durham, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9th 2021 at the Jewish Senior Services Nursing Home in Bridgeport, CT at the age of ninety five (95).
Julia was born on March 27th, 1926 in the village of Pennula di Groppallo, Piacenza, Italy to the late Catherine and Giuseppe Forlini. She immigrated to the United States in 1938 along with her family. She married her beloved husband Frank Plate on September 18th, 1949 and started a family. She was married to her beloved husband for forty six (46) years.
Julia and Frank spent their retirement years in Durham, CT where they lived in the home previously owned by Julia’s late father Giuseppe Forlini. They both enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining with family and friends, and being active members of Notre Dame Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank and her daughter Linda Joyce Gazzola. She was also predeceased by her siblings Frank Forlini, Grace Gregori, Alfred Forlini, and Hugo Forlini. She is survived by her son Marcel Joseph and his wife Rosalind Frances, and her grandchildren Marc Gian Gazzola, Carl Marcel Gazzola, Marcel Dominick Plate, and Andre Joseph Plate and her great grandchildren Sofia Linda Gazzola, Elodie Anne Plate and Emilia Rose Plate. She is also survived by her loving brother Peter Forlini.

Visitation will be help on Tuesday, September 14th 2021 from 09:00 - 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, 575 Columbus Avenue, Thornwood, NY. The Interment will follow immediately thereafter at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
Those unable to attend the service in person are invited to join virtually. We will start the Zoom meeting at around 10:15 AM to capture the religious part of the ceremony.
