Julie Carlson Onofreo

Julie Carlson Onofreo, 41, of Milford, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2020. Born on June 12, 1979 in Meriden, she was the daughter of Raymond (Patricia) Carlson of Shelton and Linda (Joseph) Beard of Milford.   

Julie was an avid horseback rider, a passion she had since she was a child and even still more recently. She loved the beach and spending time with her family.

Julie is survived by her children, Taylor Gentley and Makaila Onofreo; grandchild, Phoebe Barbierto-Gentley; sisters, Martha Beard and Lisa Purcell-Berube; uncles and aunts, Alex and Patricia Altermatt of Stony Creek, John and Judy Altermatt of Sharpsburg, GA, and Robert and Carol Altermatt of North Branford; former husband and father of her children, Mark Onofreo; and many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, John and Loraine Altermatt; paternal grandparents, Mildred and Carl Carlson; and stepbrother, Robert F. Purcell, Jr.

Friends and family may call from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 23, 2020 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, August 24, 2020. This event is by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
