Karen "Beanie" (Leckie) Mercaldo

Karen “Beanie” Mercaldo, 76, of Milford, beloved wife to the late Michael V. Mercaldo, entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2018 in her home, surrounded by her family. Born on June 3, 1942 in Glen Cove, NY, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Marion Church Leckie.

Karen is survived by her loving children, Renee (Art) Mercaldo Allen, Thomas (Pam) Mercaldo and Sally (Lincoln) Reed; her grandchildren, Morgan Allen, Kendal Reed, Sam Allen, Christopher Mercaldo, Shannon Reed, James Mercaldo and Molly Mercaldo; her brother, Duncan (Judy) Leckie; her sister, Sally (Billy) Swift; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Barnett. She was predeceased by her brother, George Leckie and her sister, Dorothy Barnett.

Affectionately known as “Beanie”, family was the central focus of her life.  She dedicated herself to caring for her husband, 3 children, and 7 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT. Family and friends may call on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org/donate, or through the mail at 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
