Laura Lee Murray

Laura Lee Murray, 91, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Ronald Murray, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2019. Born on February 3, 1928 in Mineral Ridge, OH, she was the daughter of the late Laura Davis and John Scott.  

Laura lived in Vermont prior to settling down in Milford where she worked as a machinist at Barnes Industries. She loved Scotty dogs and watching sports on television, especially baseball, golf, and UCONN Women’s Basketball. Laura also enjoyed playing bingo. She was affectionately known by her friends and family as “Scottie,” because her maiden name was Scott, or by her nickname “Red,” for her vibrant red hair.

Laura is survived by four of her children, Ronald Zemper, Bruce Zemper, Shane Murray, and Randy Murray; her grandchildren, Susan, David, Amy, Courtney, Dylan, Avalon, Cassandra, Jessica, and Ronald; her great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Piper, Alex, Victoria, Nicolas, Ethan, and Andrew; her sister June Pritchard, and many extended family members and friends.

Her family would like to thank her caregivers and nurses at West River Healthcare Center and her kind doctors at St. Rafael’s Hospital.

A Graveside Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CEMETERY). A Memorial Service will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford. Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 7788, where she loved to play Bingo.
