Lucille Frances Breslin, age 89, of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 1, 2017.  Born on June 22, 1928 in Fall River, MA she was the daughter of the late Alfred Tessier and Agnes Garrity. 

Lucille, or “Tess” as she was known to her friends, was a New Englander at heart her whole life although she lived in New Jersey from 1950 until 1990. She met her husband John Breslin in Newport, RI while he was serving in the US Navy during World War II.  They were married on October 7, 1950 in Fall River, MA and then resided in Brooklawn and Gloucester, NJ. In 1990 they moved to Stratford, CT to be closer to their children and grandchildren, which brought her back to New England.  Her allegiance to her beloved Boston Celtics, Red Sox and the Patriots never wavered and, in addition, she became an avid and very knowledgeable fan of women’s basketball.

Lucille was predeceased by her husband, and the love of her life, John Edward Breslin, Jr. after 62 years of marriage. She is survived by her twin sons Mark Breslin, and his wife Dianne Nolan, of Stratford, CT, and Paul Breslin and his wife Catherine, of Plymouth, MA. She leaves behind five loving grandchildren and an adored great granddaughter - Samuel Breslin of Weston, MA, Abigail Breslin of Nashville, TN, Andrew Breslin of Pasadena, CA, John Breslin of Stamford, CT, and Zachary Breslin and his wife Anna, and their daughter, Lucille’s great granddaughter, Eleanor Culver Breslin, of Greenwich, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Saint Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Ln, Stratford, CT 06614. Family and Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. that morning at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mercy Learning Center, 637 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
