Lucy DeNegre

Lucy DeNegre, 97, formerly of Orange, CT passed away peacefully in her home in The Woodlands, TX on April 18, 2018. She was born on August 1, 1920 in New Haven and was the daughter of the late Matteo and Josephine Naclerio of New Haven and Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, John Mark DeNegre, and is survived by her loving children, Lucinda “Cindy” Parnoff (Fred), John Mark DeNegre, Jr. (Susan) and Janice Lori Phillips (David). Lucy had eight grandchildren of whom she was so proud: Dr. John Parnoff (Monique), Attny David Parnoff (Melissa), Wendy Kudej (Dan), Dr. Ashley DeNegre (Ryan), Dr. Scott DeNegre (Becca), Dr. Matthew Phillips (Amanda), Jonathan Phillips (Rachel) and Ryan Phillips (Kendra). Also, ten great-grandchildren, Danny, Steven, Ellise, Cameron, Giovanna, Mattea, Shea, Daisy, Benjamin and Mason. She is also survived by her sister, Carmela Apuzzo of Orange as well as many nieces and nephews. Lucy was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, Joseph, Thomas and Frank (Neclerio/Naclerio) and her sisters, Ann Lisewski and Josephine Gentile.

Lucy was a fun-loving person who loved family, dancing, laughing and had a lot of friends. She enjoyed the Morris Clove and Orange Garden Clubs, Holy Infant Women’s Guild, The Book Club of Orange, WIT Investing Group, the “Golden Girls” and weekly bridge. Her family would like to thank the very caring private nurses, Maggie, Paz, Mirna and Beverly of Texas who cared for her at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven, CT. Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
