Margaret Mary Maglione, 95, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Francis Maglione, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2018. Born on September 25, 1923 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Mihal Meady.
During World War II Marge worked at the Brass Shop in Bridgeport where she put holes in bullets. Later, she had a few jobs working at the candy counter at the old Kresge’s in Bridgeport and then at the candy counter at Grants in the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford. The tradition of the candy counter remained in her home with a shelf of a variety of candies in jars. Family and friends would help themselves to these treats which gave her joy.
Marge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook and bake and always made big Sunday and holiday dinners for her family. Marge enjoyed making ceramics. She made an entire ceramic village which she proudly displayed under her Christmas tree. She liked playing bingo and her trips to the casino. She loved animals and theyloved her. She had an array of pets from dogs, rabbits, chickens, stray cats, and even a duck. Even a sparrow would fly and land on her shoulder when she went in her backyard.
She was a devoted mother to her son. She loved participating in her grandson’s lives from babysitting, parties, ballgames, and vacations. She was always happy. We are going to miss her laughter.
Margaret is survived by her son, Francis (Sally) Maglione, Jr.; her grandchildren, Frank (Jackie) Maglione and Steven Maglione; her great-granddaughter, Vaida Maglione; her niece, Patricia Napierkowski; and her grand-dog, Max.
Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at The CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford. Interment will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford.
