Marie Theresa Montemarano

March 8, 1927 ~ November 7, 2021 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Tribute

Marie Theresa Montemarano passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Milford Health & Rehabilitation Center in Connecticut.  She is reunited with her husband Pasquale who returned to Heaven in 1991. Her daughter Joan and husband Bruce were blessed to be with her when she went to sleep.

Mom worked in a Chantilly Perfume Factory in Queens putting ribbons on the boxes. She married the love of her life in 1949.  She never graduated high school, but had a lifelong successful career at A&S Department Stores where she worked for many years eventually as a manager of sales returns.  She helped her husband, send three children to college.

She leaves behind a family that adored her including 6 great grandchildren (Anna, David, John, Ella, Lorenzo, & Simon) as well as six grandchildren (Teresa [Jason], Anthony [Kate], Matthew [Katie], Connie, Lauren [Kris] and Jaclyn) and three children….her loving daughter Joan & husband Bruce who tirelessly cared for Mom through her decline from dementia and her son Michael, his wife Linda, and her oldest son Richard, his wife Joan.

After they both retired Mom and Dad found joy in their family and in touring the US and the world by plane, rail, bus and cruise ship.  They visited the beaches of Normandy where Dad survived wounds on Utah Beach in WWII. They visited, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, England and Italy as well.

Mom was an active member of St Edmund Church in Brooklyn for over 40 years where she was a Eucharistic Minister serving the needs of many members of the parish with hospital and home visits.  She lived her faith and professed it every day.

She enjoyed board games with her friends and was wicked good at Rummikub.  She frequented Broadway shows, Radio City Music Hall and Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC.  She toured the area churches each year for Lent with her daughter Joan and enjoyed baking all “Mom’s holiday classics” including Easter pie and Christmas Cookies.  Truth be told her favorite music rose from the voices of Perry Como and Frank Sinatra.

A life well lived.

We were all blessed to be in her presence and she loved continually and unconditionally.  She is at peace with the love of her life, her husband since 1949 Pasquale, and her brothers Richard and Joseph as well as friends and family too numerous to mention.
