February 21, 1926 ~ September 27, 2019 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Tribute

Mary Clare DiBattista, 93, of Milford, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019.  The caring wife of the late Liberto “Lee” J. DiBattista, she was born on February 21, 1926 in Nanticoke, PA; daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McAndrew) Lynch.  Mary moved to Connecticut shortly after graduating from Hanover Township Memorial High School in 1946.

Mary met Lee at Chance Vought where they were both employed during World War II.  They married June 13, 1948 at St. Ambrose Church in Bridgeport, CT.  Together they built their life long home and raised their family in Milford, CT.

Mary worked from an early age and had many jobs over her lifetime.  She started her working career at the Circle BBQ in PA and continued working in CT at G.E., Norden and Warnaco.  She was proud of her experiences and of how she worked her way up through the company to become the Director of Benefits for Warnaco.

Mary was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Milford and an active supporter of The Legion of Christ in Cheshire, CT.

Mary was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and devoted grandmother to both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mary enjoyed baking for everyone and was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and the UConn Women’s Basketball Team.  She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mary had a great and wry sense of humor.  She found the funny in everyday life and had a way of making everyone feel at ease.  Her genuine kindness made anyone who crossed her path feel special and loved.  Mary was the North Star of her family.  She sought to do everything she could to help her family, friends, and strangers alike. Her capacity for love and forgiveness knew no bounds. She will be remembered for her generosity of time, money, and loving spirit!

Mary is survived by her children James (Elizabeth) DiBattista and Clare (John) Aliberti, her grandchildren Katie (Jeff) Miller, and Shannon McCoy, step-grandchildren Megan (Jason) Kandrach, and Michael Gleissner.  She also leaves behind her adoring great-grandchildren Logan, Sydney, and Austin Miller, Gavin Egan and Rory Kandrach.

Mary is survived by her brother, Joseph Lynch and many wonderful nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Anne Lisk; and brothers, James, Thomas, Raymond, Gerard, Patrick “Buddy,” and Francis Lynch.
