Tribute

Born in Milford on January 18, 1968 to the late Charles E. Dallachie and Margaret M. Dallachie née Bane. Passed away on September 29, 2019 at the VA hospital in West Haven, CT. after a long battle with neuroendocrine cancer.

Matt is survived by his wife, Linda (Reineke) and three children; two daughters, Terryn (29) and her husband Michael Bolton Jr. of Norfolk VA, Jordan (25) of West Haven CT, and her boyfriend, Nick Capozzo, and one son, Brendan (22), of West Haven CT. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Raelynn Nicole Bolton (2).

Matt attended St. Mary’s Catholic School then went on to graduate from Foran High School, both in Milford. He became an EMT in 1992 and joined the Navy Reserve in 1996. After four years he went over to the Air Force Reserves who helped him to obtain his goal of getting a degree in nursing. He graduated second in his class in 2001. After 9/11 he was called to active duty serving almost 8 years total. He retired from the reserves with full honors after 21 years of service. In civilian life he worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 14 years. Mostly in the emergency department & later on the surgical & orthopedic recovery floor. He also volunteered with the town of Stratford as an EMT for a few years during the mid 90’s. Aside from dedicating his life to helping others Matt had other passions as well. He had a great love of animals, especially dogs & helped in the fight against puppy mills & pet shops who did business with them. He loved cooking & fishing, firearms & arguing politics on Facebook. Most of all he and an amazing sense of humor. There will be a little less laughter in the world without him in it.

Martha & Karl Violette of Wallingford and their three children; Laura, Ted & Joseph. The money the foundation raises goes directly to the patient & their family to help with whatever they need, such as paying rent, food or utilities. They were very kind and generous to us when we needed them too.
