Matthew A. Bryk, 72, of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2018. Born on April 6, 1946, he lived most of his life in CT and was the son of the late Matthew and Emilia (Socha) Bryk.
Matty was raised in Newtown, CT and graduated from Newtown High School. He then joined the U.S. Marine Corp. and proudly served his country in Vietnam. After his military service, he studied at UCONN. Matty worked as a Real Estate Appraiser for the last 25 years, previously a carpenter, he also ran the family restaurant in Newtown. Everyone knew Matty to be a positive and upbeat person. He loved people, enjoyed going to flea markets and antique shows, working on projects around the house and weekly events with his community friends. He will be missed by everyone.
Matty is survived by his longtime partner, Maureen, and her daughter, Marissa; his son, Daniel (Melissa) Bryk; his daughter, Allison (Chad) Letson; his grandchildren, Eddy and Ciara Bryk; his brothers, Mitchell and Thaddeus Bryk; his nephews, August and Garrett Bryk; many cousins and endless friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Sal) Bryk.
A Sharing of Memories will be celebrated on Monday, August 6, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
