Maxwell Michael Geneste

Maxwell Michael Geneste, 8, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on December 28, 2021. Born on September 18, 2013 in New Haven, CT, he was the beloved son of Jean and Janine (Phoenix) Geneste.  

Born at 30 weeks gestation, Max was a fighter from the very beginning. He could light up a room with his beautiful smile. Max loved to watch Cocomelon & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, ride his bike through the hallways of his school and to go boating with his family with the wind in his hair. 

Max enjoyed his travels with his family to the Grand Canyon, the California Coast and Florida, as well as a trip to see his family in France. When he wasn’t busy traveling the world, Max worked hard at acquiring new skills. Despite his challenges, Maxwell was determined to make his way around independently and he often delighted his family with his incredible progress. 

In addition to his loving parents, Max is survived by his aunts and uncles, Carinne (Frank) Mossa, Kristin (David) Rodriguez, Kirsten Sanchez and Jarel Capers, Marie (Jean) Bellefleur, Marie Geneste, Lavaud (Marigarline) Geneste, Amy Geneste, Meleus Geneste; his cousins, Rocco and Jaxson Rodriguez, Nico and Nora Mossa, Wally, Kereen and Bern Bellefleur and Frantzy Geneste, Audrey, Caroline & Gerald Geneste; Joey, Gwendolyn and Jeoffrey Geneste;  brothers, Floy and Zander Geneste; grandparents, Michael Phoenix and Laura Camporeale and Donna (Ron) Dubois; his great-grandmother, Josephine “MomMom” Phoenix, great-grandfather Joseph “Poppy” Peritore; many members of his extended family and his beloved dogs, Snoop, Cody, and Cooper. He was predeceased by his great-grandfather Homer “PopPop” Phoenix, great-grandmother Rosemarie “Gran” Peritore, grandfather Jean Meleste Geneste & grandmother Marie Citeli Geneste. 

All services will be private at this time. The family is being cared for by the staff at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut 42 Norwich Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375
