Michael E. Simpson, 71, of Milford, Connecticut and Vero Beach, Florida, beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia Simpson, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2022. 

He was born on November 1, 1950 in Bridgeport, CT.  He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps 3rd Tank Division.  He retired from VA Connecticut, West Haven Campus.  He was an enthusiastic member of the Cedar Grove Card Players Association for over 25 years.

 In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son Michael and wife Aurinda of Monroe.  His most cherished role in life was being Grampa to Edward, Daniel, and Sofia.

He is also survived by sister-in-law, Kathy Daly of Wallingford; brother-in-law, Rusty (Eloise) Gormley of Orange; and five nephews, Matthew, Ken, and Mark Daly, as well as, Joe and Jeremy Gormley. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Kenneth Daly; his uncle, Peter Tremml; and adored, Aunt Julie Tremml.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, Precious Blood Parish, 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT.  Please meet directly at church. Burial will be private.

The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
