Nicholas A. (Nick) Fabricatore, age 82, of Milford, died peacefully early Saturday, April 14, after having withstood heart disease for decades and heart failure for years. He was born February 27, 1936 to Angelo and Carmella (Zaffino) Fabricatore of Stamford.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Giangrasso), daughter Nicole, son Anthony, daughter-in-law Andrea (Evangelista), grandsons Nicholas and Daniel, whom he absolutely adored (the feelings were mutual), sister-in-law Mary Ellen, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and in-laws, he is predeceased by his siblings, Patsy, Dominick, Joseph, Egidio, and Marie.
He worked in sheet metal with his brothers, and then held a variety of supervisory positions in manufacturing and mail operations. A lifelong accordionist, he taught lessons, led a band (“Nick Fab and his Combo”), and entertained his family on Christmas Eves. He was an active member of the Milford special needs community, most notably managing a special needs baseball team and fundraising for Milford Operation Mainstream. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, and Fayerweather Yacht Club.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd, Milford with his interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford, CT. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday April 17, 2018 at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
