Norma Eleanor Osgood, age 87, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT, on May 24, 2018. Born July 12, 1930 in Claremont, NH, Norma was one of three daughters of Milford and Anna Boucher Osgood.
Norma graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, NH in 1948. She then attended Keene Teachers College in Keene, NH, graduating in 1952. Upon graduation, she was employed as a teacher in the Fairfield, CT school system. In 1955, she moved to the Milford, CT school system and was employed as a first and second grade teacher at Lenox Avenue School. In 1970, she graduated from Fairfield University with a Masters Degree in Education and a 6 years certificate. On the closing of Lenox Avenue School in 1981, she moved to Seabreeze School until her retirement in 1985.
Upon retirement, Norma moved to Sugar Hill, NH. She built and operated a Bed & Breakfast, the Cannon View Inn, for many years. Upon failing health, she moved back to Connecticut and moved into Wesley Heights in Shelton, CT.
Norma is predeceased by her parents, her twin sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris (Paul) Guilmette and Dorothy (Arthur) Baron. She will be missed by her niece, Carol Stafford and husband, Paul, of Milford; her nephew, Gary Guilmette and wife, Frances, of Milford; her nephew, Bob Baron and wife, Bonnie, of Kittery, ME; her niece, Linda Haeseler, and husband, Richard, of New Port Richey, FL; seven great nieces and nephews and fourteen great great nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to: Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
