Tribute

With his close friend, Michael Rampino Jr, by his side, Richard Nolan Ball, beloved brother, Uncle, friend, neighbor and colleague, passed peacefully in his own home. He chose to keep his illness quiet as to not ruin the Christmas season for all who cared for him. A Southern Gentleman: Richard was born in the mountains of Virginia. He descended from an early settler family that never owned slaves, a fact he was proud of.

Richard was raised in Baltimore. He was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and pursued a career in Human Services. Richard worked for a number of agencies including Easter Seals, Goodwill Industries of New Haven, eventually retiring from Yale University where he thrived to assist people with varying abilities obtain and maintain employment.

Richard was professionally known to have the patience of a saint, slow to speak, always kind, never judging. Personally, he was known to be a true friend for many.

Richard is survived by his brother, Ronald (Karen) and Timothy (Claudia) Ball, as well as many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Delphia (Rasneke) Ball and Nolan V. Ball; and brother, Donald Ball.
