Robert H. Miller, Sr.

Robert Harvey Miller Sr.,82, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Suzanne Miller, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2022. Born on September 6th, 1940 in Milford, CT, he was the son of the late Robert C. Miller Jr. and Esther Heilman Miller.

He was a lifelong Milford resident. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14. He stayed active with the Boy Scouts and eventually became a Scout Leader at Orchard Hills Elementary School. He was a graduate of Milford High School and was a part of the class of 1958. He married his high school sweetheart in 1959 and were able to celebrate sixty years of marriage together. His father started Miller Plumbing in the 1950’s and worked with him for over thirty years before eventually taking over the family business. He then went on to work with his own son in the business for about twenty years before handing the business over to him. He was an active member of the Milford community. Organizations included the Republican Town Committee, Milford Rotary, and was a constable for the city for around thirty years. He was a proud member of the Ansantawae No. 89 A.F. and A.M, as well as the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Bridgeport.

He is survived by his son Robert H. Miller Jr. (Donna) and daughter Deborah Leum (John). His grandchildren June and Jake Miller and Megan, John, and Chris Leum. His niece Kristin Newman (Stewart) and nephews Matthew Miller (Michelle) and Joshua Miller. He also leaves behind cherished cousins and beloved friends, such as Peter Ellsworth and Patrick Bradbury. He is predeceased by late wife and parents as well as his late sister Sharon Diane. 

Family and friends may gather on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD STREET, MILFORD, CT 06460. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry Street, Milford, CT.  The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
