Robert James Russow

Robert James Russow, age 67, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of Melissa K. Russow, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 after a long illness. Born on December 22, 1954 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of the late Robert Joseph Russow and Helen Hopf Russow.

After graduating from Monroe High School, he went on to earn his BA degree in Economics & Finance from Northwestern University where he met his wife of 42 years. He later earned his MBA from New York University. Robert was VP and Chief Financial Officer at Kapetan, Inc. General Contractors in Milford, CT where he was Director of the Construction Financial Management Association. He later headed up Russow Asset Management, Inc. where he continued to manage real estate until his retirement in 2020.

Robert was a family man who attended and supported his children’s sports and extra-curricular activities. He was an avid skier and could be found on the slopes of Stratton Mountain in VT most winters with his family and best friend, Mark Doherty. He also enjoyed wind surfing and golfing. Robert was a big Yankee baseball and Giants football fan.

In addition to his wife Melissa, Robert is survived by his sons, Ryan James, Edward Robert and Alex Nicholas of Milford as well as his daughter, Allison Russow Fahy and her husband, Jesse Fahy of Fairfield. He also leaves his beloved granddaughter, Alexis Russow of Southington, CT. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Karen Russow Hollerbach. He leaves behind his sisters, Delores Hehl of Greenwood, SC, Denise Jondro of Monroe, MI and Laura Miller of Jackson, MI, plus many nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral home services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Clinic of Milford, 100 Gulf St., Milford, CT 06460.
