Ronald Edward Stach

June 11, 1942 ~ January 8, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Ronald E. Stach, 79, of Lynn, MA, beloved husband of Renate Stach, beloved father of Michael Stach, and beloved grandfather of Madeleine and Eleanor Stach, succumbed to Parkinson’s on January 8, 2022. Born on June 11, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Stach.

Ronald grew up in Bridgeport, CT where he graduated from Central High School, which he ultimately retired from in 2003 as a History teacher in the Magnet Program. After high school, Ronald graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a B.S. in Education. After completing a Master of Arts degree in History from Columbia University in New York City, Ronald began his teaching career in Bridgeport at Bassick High School.  For the last 18 years of his teaching career in Bridgeport, Ronald taught History at the Central High Magnet Program. The Magnet program was Bridgeport’s solution to make a first-rate college preparatory education available to the best and brightest students in Bridgeport. His time at Central Magnet made the final years of his career very rewarding. He loved being able to convey his love of learning and History to a diverse student body, many who went on to Ivy League schools and advanced degrees. Ronald felt uniquely privileged to be a part of this positive force in the community, as did many of his students. Upon retiring in 2003, Ron’s favorite activities included reading History, travelling, and golf.

He is survived by his brothers, Alan (daughter Monica) and David Stach (spouse Barbara) and David’s children, nieces Julianne (spouse Buddy), Ashley MacPherson (spouse Ross and children, Austin and Ian), Karissa Shields (spouse Tristan, and children Genevieve and Aubrey), and Kristen. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Clinton Peterson, department head at Bassick High School and later a city-wide Social Studies Supervisor for the Bridgeport School system. Before Ronald’s marriage to his beloved wife Renate, Clint and Ron enjoyed travelling all over Europe and cross-country in the USA.  In the later years, Ronald and Renate visited Clint in Florida enjoying many rounds of golf with Clint. Ronald left his beloved friends, family, students, and colleagues with many happy memories of time with him that keep him alive within us.
