Salvador “Harry” Ledesma, 87, of Milford, beloved husband for 14 years to the late Anna Acampora Ledesma, passed away on June 24, 2017. Harry was born in Manhattan, NY on February 5, 1930 to the late Salvador and Mercedes Ledesma.
Harry was raised in New York and worked for over 30 years as a switch operator for the New York Railroad. After his retirement, he and Anna moved to Milford and he resided here for the last 25 years. He was an avid NY Yankees fan who never lost his love of New York, even after moving to Connecticut. Harry was a kind and gentle man who touched many lives with his sweet and caring nature.
He leaves behind his sister-in-law, Ellen Acampora; niece, Theresa Mester and her husband Paul; nephew, David Acampora and his wife Janet; and great nephews and nieces, Joseph and Nicole Mester and Samantha and Jake Acampora.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven, CT. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
