Steven Lach

Steven Anthony Lach, age 57, resident of Williston, VT passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022. He was born in Detroit, MI on January 27th, 1965 and was the son of the late Ronald and Angeline (Tomala) Lach. He grew up in Clinton Township, MI and attended Fraser High School where he graduated in 1983. He moved to CT in 1987 before meeting Deborah (Straub) Lach, and marrying in 1989. Together they had one son, Steven Andrew Lach. Steve later remarried to Nancy (Carmichael) Lach in 2005, where he gained an additional son, Alex Steed.

Steve made his home in Connecticut for over 30 years. He had a successful sales career with Canaan Distributors in Stamford, CT before taking a job with Kelly Bros in Williston, VT when he moved to Vermont full time roughly four years ago. 

Steve was an avid sports fan, animal lover, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known to light up the room with his smile, and had a presence that was larger than life. He was a proud father, and a doting grandfather who adored his grandchildren. Friends, neighbors, and colleagues knew him to be an upbeat, kind, and caring individual always willing to lend a hand.

Steve is survived by his partner, Nancy (Carmichael) Lach. His sons, Steven Andrew (Morgan) Lach of Torrington, CT, and Alex (Carolyn Kendrick) Steed of Nashville, TN. He leaves behind two grandchildren, Brayden and Caelan Lach. His brother in law, Peter Focareto, and his nephews Adam and Atlas Focareto, of Wallingford, CT. He is predeceased by his sister, Andrea (Lach) Focareto. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at the Cody-White Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Steve’s honor.
