Susan A. Maze

Susan A. Maze, 57, of Milford, beloved wife of Douglas Maze, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Susan was born on November 18, 1960 in West Islip, NY to her parents Robert and Marilyn Wright Bohlander.

Susan was a 1978 graduate of West Islip High School, West Islip, N.Y. Susan attended Dowling College, Oakdale, N.Y. graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts. In the 1980’s Susan was a dedicated elder of the Westminster United Presbyterian church (West Islip, N.Y.) having served on several boards. Susan proudly worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Supply Management since 2007. Susan had a smile and a laugh that would light up any room she entered. Her loving nature and wicked sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Susan would always put others before herself. Even when her health was declining, she would care how others were feeling and always showed general concern for their well-being. Susan enjoyed simple things in life, getting her nails painted, sitting in front of the fireplace during a snowstorm, hot fudge Sundae’s, Saturday & Sunday morning coffee in the back yard, laying on the couch petting her rescue animals, Scooter (Tuxedo Cat) and Buddy (Pyrador). She loved everything British and Royal. Taking time off from work to watch all of the Royal weddings from Princess Diana’s right up to Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle. Susan was an avid fan of Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders, The Crown and Sir Elton John.

Susan was an avid jewelry maker working at many craft shows throughout Connecticut. She loved spending time hosting holidays, going on vacations, casino trips and refined dinners with her family and friends. She loved family trips to New York City and Boston. Her greatest joy was the love and devotion she bestowed to her son Will.

Susan is survived by her husband Douglas R. Maze Jr., her son William R. Maze, her step-mother Betty Jean Agiesta Bohlander, mother-in-law Agnes Maze, niece Kristen Miller Sciame (Michael husband), great niece Cali Marie Sciame as well as many cousins.  Susan was predeceased by her father Robert Bohlander and mother Marilyn Wright Bohlander.

A Prayer Service will be celebrated Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.  Interment will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 1 to 5 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yale Smilow Cancer Hospital in honor her name, Susan A. Maze.
