Thomas V. Allen, Jr

Thomas V. Allen, Jr., 74 of Milford, beloved husband of Judith (Merritt) Molnar-Allen passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 in Milford Hospital. He was born on June 30, 1944 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Thomas V. Sr. and Josephine (Pacelli) Allen.

Tom grew up in Seaside Village in Bridgeport, CT and resided in Milford for many years. He was a graduate of Bassick High School (’63) and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft before retiring. Tom loved spending time on the beach, especially at Seaside Park and Savin Rock in West Haven, near his grandfather’s home. Tom was also an avid sports fan and collector of memorabilia. As a young man, he enjoyed watching Brooklyn Dodgers’ games. He was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame University football and in later years cheered for the UCONN women’s basketball team. Tom also had a love for his dogs and koi. He especially loved spending time with his family and many close friends. Every week through the years, he and his longtime friend, George Hoppes, met for coffee to catch up. Tom was also a friend of Bill W.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his sister, Judith (Allen) Rae of Stratford; two stepsons, Michael P. Molnar and his wife Kristen of Georgetown, Massachusetts and Matthew P. Molnar and his wife Jeanine of Thomaston; two step-grandchildren, Lydia and Nathanael; and several cousins and cherished nieces and nephews, including nephew Thomas Rae and his wife Deana of Milford, two nieces Lauren (Rae) Meier and her husband George of Oxford and Lynn Rae and her husband Kevin Barnes of Arizona; and their seven children Jake Rae, Kelly, George and Matthew Meier and Sydney, Savannah and Maya Barnes. He was predeceased by his first wife, Cheryl (Reaney) “CJ” Allen and his brother in-law, William R. Rae.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church 501 Naugatuck Ave. Milford, CT. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.
