Thomas Edward Boyce, 75, of Milford, beloved husband of 54 years of Iris Lowe, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 30, 2018. Born on September 3, 1942 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Eugene and Amelia Boyce.
Thomas began his career of top secret government computer work at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland. He continued his work doing computer software design for the NASDAQ stock exchange at Bunker-Ramo in CT. Thomas moved on to ISC in the computer banking industry and concluded his career back at NASDAQ.
Thomas’s grandchildren, Sam and Grace, were the light of his life. He supported them in all of their endeavors, from sharing his love of golf with Sam and working on projects together to cheering on Grace every figure skating competition she competed in. He had a special bond with each of them that they will cherish forever. Thomas also enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and best friend, Iris. The two married in January of 1964. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Europe, Alaska, Arizona, and Hawaii and watching the New England foliage during the fall.
A devout catholic, Thomas worked at Saint Ann Parish where he was the parish center manager. His faith was a huge part of his life that he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Thomas had a beautiful smile that he shared with the world. A gentle giant, he was a child at heart and loved to make his family and friends laugh. His presence will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Along with his loving wife, Thomas is survived by his beloved daughters, Maureen (David) Rubino of Boston, and Eileen (Ted) Hillenmeyer of Stamford; cherished grandchildren, Sam and Grace Hillenmeyer; devoted siblings, Eugene (Sue) Boyce of Long Island, Geraldine (James) Maloney of North Carolina, and William (Irene) Boyce also of Long Island; eighteen nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws, Wendell (Bernadine) Lowe and Stanley (Margaret) Lowe; and many extended family members, especially Henry Hillenmeyer who he was particularly fond of.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Saint Ann Church (Saint Raphael Parish), 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
