Thomas Edward Jakubisyn (TJ), age 76, of Milford, CT, died at Bridgeport Hospital on August 4, 2017.  He was the beloved son of the late Edward and Frances Dymarczyk Jakubisyn. 

TJ was the sole owner of TJ’s Package store in downtown Milford for thirty six years. He was a Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Des Moines, the world’s largest all gun heavy cruiser flag ship of the sixth fleet that sailed the Mediterranean seas. He was a member of the downtown Milford Business Association, the Thaddeus Kosciuszko Society of Milford, the American Legion, the USS Des Moines Alumni Association and the Cruiser/Sailors Association.

TJ leaves his son, Walter E. Jakubisyn and fiancé Robin Lentz of Meriden and his daughter, Laura Jakubisyn Black and husband Dr. Craig Black of Dallas, Texas and their mother Margaret Barrett of West Haven. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Jakubisyn and wife Maureen Jakubisyn of Wallingford and his niece Denise Jakubisyn; as well as his grandson, Tyler Jakubisyn and fiancé Kelly Ann Corbett and granddaughters, Meghan Boudreau, Katherine and Emily Hausler, their mother Doreen Boudreau Hausler and her husband David Hausler and a great grandson, Jaxson Phakusonh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven, CT. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
