William W. Miskella, 87, of Milford, beloved husband for 62 years to N. Lorraine Miskella, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2019 surrounded by loving family. William was born on July 21, 1932 in Bridgeport, CT to the late James and Hilda (Thompson) Miskella.
William graduated from Harding High School in 1950 and was later drafted into the Army. On June 8, 1957, he married his beloved wife, N. Lorraine Hennessey in Stratford, CT. William was a Stratford Fire Fighter from 1956-1982, retiring as a lieutenant. He had a love of sports, especially baseball, where he played for the Braves Farm Team. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the NFL Giants and the UConn women’s basketball team. William was an avid golfer, accomplishing two hole in ones during his lifetime, as well as earning the title of “League Class Horseshoe Champion”, another passion of his. In his spare time, he volunteered to coach Little league, enjoyed bowling and fishing, but his greatest joy in life was his family.
William is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; children, Linda Barone, Bill Miskella, Donna Hansen, Leasa Torelli and Lauri Miskella; adoring grandchildren, Lindsay Schmelzel, Kyle Barone, Jake Barone, Ellie Moon, Sarah Moon, Amanda Barone, Billy Miskella, Noella Barone, Abby Miskella, Olivia Ricco, Cole and Lilly Hansen, Grace Ricco, Anna Ricco and Lia Ricco.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s name may be made to the Stratford Firemen’s Benevolent Association, 2704 Main Street., Stratford, CT 06615.
