John L. Capecelatro, age 89 of Orange, beloved husband of Gloria Aldo Capecelatro, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Raphael’s Hospital. Born on October 9, 1922 he was the son of the late Gennaro and Frances Cuzzocreo Capecelatro. John was co-owner of Hillside Farms Co. with his brother Ralph, who predeceased him. He was a member of Orange Volunteer Fire Department, belonged to many fire associations and was proud to serve as the Fire Chief, and was also a supernumerary police officer for the Orange Police department. John was a devout and dedicated usher and communicant of Holy Infant Church. He was an antique car and truck enthusiast and, for many years, was involved with the Draft Horse Association.
Besides his wife Gloria of 66 years, he is survived by children Richard Capecelatro and his wife Diane of Orange; Carol Traester and her husband William of Simsbury; sister, Ann Levenduski; sister-in-law, Elaine Capecelatro, grandchildren, Kevin Capecelatro and his wife Jeanine, Michael and Robert Capecelatro, Mary and Eric Traester; two great grandchildren, Anthony and Julia Capecelatro; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his cherished daughter Mary Lee Capecelatro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd. Orange, CT. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven, CT. Friends and family may call on Thursday, May 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., On the Green, Milford.
