In a million years I never thought I’d be standing in front of family and friends of my loving nephew. He was one of six nephews and nieces but Joey was a really special one. The hardest part is who is going to take care of us when we get old. We would laugh about who would take the job of caring for us when we became the age that we needed care. Joey was the volunteer (SILLY BOY). I reflect back on when he was young. He was such a respectful boy who grew into a great man. I know in my heart that he knew the love we felt for him. He was always there for you especially if you needed help; he was at the door in a heartbeat; that was Joey. His relationship with his brother was unbreakable. Joey’s three lovely nephews and niece were such a joy for him. He was so proud of Jimmy. I think of when he would take my 94’ Camero, he was about 19 and he would put the top down and he thought he was hot s—t. Always returned it washed and waxed. I sat with my daughter and went through old pictures; each picture of Joey included a baby on his hip. All my children loved Cousin Joey. I know Joey had many families’s who claimed him. I am selfish when it comes to Joey, he was mine too. I can’t imagine no phone calls saying, “HI AUNT ANNIE.” Our lives will never be the same; he touched us all in different ways. My heart is broken, the tears flow heavy but I find comfort in all the memories we shared. Now to Joey, you know my love for you was unconditional and I will never forget you. Every person in this room feels the same way. You lit up our lives and that flame will never die out. I Love you with all my heart and I will talk to you always (KISSES AND HUGS)
